How it works
How is the dose worked out?
Total dose (mg) = body weight (kg) × dose (mg/kg). Liquid volume (ml) = total mg ÷ strength in mg/ml. Tablets = total mg ÷ mg per tablet.
Does it suggest a dose for a medicine?
No. You enter the mg/kg dose from your formulary or reference. The calculator only does the arithmetic.
